Visa Amnesty Extended until October 31st for foreigners in Thailand

Announced on the 1st of October the Royal Thai Government has thus issued an extension on visa amnesties to the 31st of October for foreigners who are unable to leave the country due to the measures taken to curb the spread of COVID-19. This marks the fourth extension made thus far from 26 march to the 30th of April and from the 1st of May to the 31st of July and the third one being the recent 1st of August to the 26th of September.

Due to the severe cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in other countries and new cases still rising, the lockdown is still in effect in most countries around the world, which means that there are foreigners stranded in Thailand still, due to the limitations of international travel.

However, foreigners are still advised to notify the Immigration Bureau of the notification of residence. Despite this lockdown and extension, regular notifications should still proceed.

For more information, please contact the Immigration Bureau Hot Line 1178, or visit the website https://www.immigration.go.th/en/.
