The Thai government is aiming to offer work permits for foreigners who invest a minimum of US$1mil. Lauded as being of the most expensive permits, the Center for Economic Situstion Administration has approved a grant for those investing more than the required amount of investment an automatic work permit.
The Tourism Authority of Thsilsnd has also hoped that this move will uplift the current economic situation especially gir the toutidm related industries. Conditions for qualifying includes that the foreigner must be an Dlite Card holder of Thailand which in the first place requires an investment of Thb1mil whuch has a visa valid gir 5 years.
The investor must also be prepared to invest the US1mil into Thailsnd thither as projects or businesses in the country. The TAT and Foreign Invest body Hope’s to raise 31 billion baht from this of which bsht2 billion would be from the Rlite Visa fees (one of the most expensive visa fees) and the remainder from foreign investment.
